This controller was purchased to replace an older Hunter outdoor controller. The control dial on the old unit had worn out and we weren't able to reliably select functions or enter other needed data. We had a landscaping/sprinkler service install it. The technician had trouble getting it to fit where the older unit had been without some wiring showing at the bottom, but the unit is inside a closed garage, so no worries about the weather getting inside. This controller is identical to its predecessor in terms of programming features, so it was easy to set up. It works just fine on our 8-zone sprinkler system. The previous Hunter controller lasted around 11 seasons - which, after initial programming, didn't really entail much manipulation of the control dial, so I'm at a loss to explain it wearing out, but it did. All things considered, we like this unit very much.

With the instructions at hand, it is easy to setup

This was a replacement for a until that was more than 5 years old. I do now know the actual age of the unit, but when we bought the house 5 years ago, it worked very well. It died about 3 months ago and a replacement had to be installed. We decided to go with the same brand. It has been a great unit. Easy to install, easy to configure and very reliable. We will probably use the same one on our next installation some years down the road.

Replaced my old one perfectly. Had I researched a bit more, might have gone with a newer WiFi unit so I could make adjustments and such from my phone. But this one works fine.

Easy to use. It replaced the same product that lasted 9 years. Easy to install. Just make sure to label your wires going to the sprinkler or you have to learn the zones all over again.

Some reviews are done immediately after the purchase. Not this time. We bought this irrigation timer several years ago. We have had no problems at all. It was easy to install, and it is easy to use.

Hunter Quality

Super easy to install and program. I've used hunter controllers since my system was installed. 2 were taken out by lightning, which can be the case for any controller. I like the fact this has a much more compact design than previous versions. I like the fact you can get accessories and install easily. Also, the fact you can turn on all stations with a push of a button.
